We’re joined by Roger Crabtree, who tells us the story of how from humble beginnings in a garden shed in 1896, Pye became Cambridge’s biggest employer for much of the 20th Century with over 7,000 employees just in this area, and over 30,000 worldwide.
Whilst Pye didn’t have a factory in Littleport, it did bus in large numbers of employees from the area.
As usual, free tea/coffee will be available, and our raffle and bookstall will be present too.
The Village Hall has step-free access, toilets for all, and a hearing loop.
