This book Fire In The Sky is an account of a rioter’s tale from the fenlands of Cambridgeshire to Australia.
Author George Bowles wrote this book after finding some old diaries up for auction in Australia. Upon reading the diaries he realised the story’s potential and turned them into Fire In The Sky.
Sadly, the diaries are long lost, and there is no accounting for the accuracy of the information, but they do make for a great read, giving a story set against a background of the struggles of fenland life in the 1800’s.
